Outdoor Dining in Venice Beach, California

Looking to grab a bite near the water? Swing by Fig Tree Beach Cafe and Grill in Venice Beach for an oceanfront experience.

As one of my first dining experiences post-quarantine, my requirements included: outdoor seating, social distancing policies, a great menu, and gorgeous views.

Spanish flavor meets the pacific ocean coastline. This gem is tucked away at the corner of the Venice oceanfront boardwalk. I came by earlier in the afternoon (around 1PM on a weekday) and was easily able to find a seat at the bar with several empty seats around me. The windows and doors stay ajar-- so the ocean breeze is always present.

I instantly fell for the latin vibe, from the ambient decor to the menu and ordered a "spicy margarita" in the afternoon before heading to the water. It was delicious with just the right kick of spice.

I had reservations in the evening, and came back after several hours of sun-bathing to a much busier Fig Cafe. I recommend making a reservation to avoid a wait. The menu includes seafood, and South American dishes like the Mexican classic "Chicken Mole" (pictured). It changes throughout the day, so be sure to check out each menu here!
